Revelo Up was born out of two main problems: many people wanted to switch careers to work in tech but couldn’t due to financial issues and managing loans manually was a pain.
Our solution? Offer student loans directly to schools and create an easy-to-use platform for clients to manage their accounts and schedule payments.
My role
As the lead designer, I focused on making the platform simple and intuitive so that clients could manage their loans independently.
I also spearheaded the implementation of gamification elements to incentivize early payments and completion of the registration process, making the experience more engaging and rewarding for users.
Challenge
Streamline the manual operation of student loan management, which posed inefficiencies and limitations for users and administrators.
Our goal was to develop a solution that would provide accessible education financing, simplify the loan management process, and reduce delinquency rates.
Given that many users wanted to check their finances on the move, it was crucial that the dashboard was mobile-friendly.
Interviews
I delved into understanding the pain points of both users and administrators caused by manual operations, and what could we do to reduce the delinquency rate.
Ideation
One key aspect of our ideation process was to ensure that the proposed features aligned with our goal of reducing delinquency rates while also improving the overall usability of the platform.
Prototyping
I explored different approaches to make managing loans easier and encourage early payments: Simple dashboards, personalized alerts, and gamified elements.

We conducted usability tests and gathered feedback from a diverse group of users, including both clients and administrators.
